Understand chemistry, not just memorise it.

ChemLayers helps Ghanaian SHS students master the WASSCE Chemistry syllabus with short lessons, 3D molecules they can turn, and practice that explains every answer.

How ChemLayers works

Real understanding starts with seeing the molecule.

Every lesson pairs the syllabus notes with something you can interact with: a molecule to turn, an orbital diagram to fill, or a gas law to test. Quick checks after each idea tell you straight away if it has clicked.

  • VSEPR shapes, organic compounds and crystal lattices in 3D
  • Worked examples and WAEC tips in every lesson
  • Ghanaian examples, from Tema to Obuasi

Benzene, C₆H₆. Drag to rotate.

Unit 4 · Chemical bonding

Which of the following molecules is linear?

  • AH₂OYour answer
  • BNH₃
  • CCO₂Correct
  • DCH₄

Why: carbon in CO₂ has two bonding pairs and no lone pairs, so the bonds point in opposite directions (180°). Water is bent because oxygen has two lone pairs.

Exam practice

Every answer, explained.

Practise unit by unit or sit a timed mock Paper 1. You see why each wrong option is wrong, and the questions you miss come back in Weak spots until you get them right.

  • 10-question quizzes for every unit
  • 50-question, 60-minute mock Paper 1
  • Scores broken down by unit so you know what to revise

Start for free

Built for Ghana. Free for every student.

ChemLayers is made for Ghanaian classrooms: the WAEC syllabus, Ghanaian examples, phone sign-in with a Ghanaian number, and pages that stay light on mobile data.

Frequently asked questions, answered.

Is ChemLayers really free?

Yes. Every lesson, 3D molecule, practice question and mock paper is free for SHS students, with no ads.

Does it follow the WASSCE Chemistry syllabus?

Lessons follow the WAEC Chemistry syllabus unit by unit, from atomic structure to organic chemistry, plus a practicals unit for Paper 3. Ghana-specific (Section B) topics are clearly labelled.

Are the practice questions real past questions?

No. They are original questions written in the WAEC style, so you practise the same skills, and every option comes with an explanation.

Do I need a password?

No. Sign in with your email or a Ghanaian mobile number and we send you a 6-digit code.

Will it work on my phone and on low data?

Yes. Pages are light, you can install ChemLayers to your home screen, and lessons you have opened keep working offline.

Can teachers set work for a class?

Teacher tools such as class codes and progress reports are coming in the next version.
